Cotton Candy Grapes. No Kidding.

I am not kidding. These Grapes taste just like Cotton Candy. They don’t come on a stick. They come on a vine…a Grape vine. And we don’t spin this candy. It was created the old-fashioned way. After searching the world over for some of the most unique Grape flavors and varieties, the growers at the Grapery have a Grape you just won’t believe until you eat one. It’s called “Cotton Candy.” Jim Beagle and Jack Pandol were on the hunt for a Grape that would change people’s perc

Going For The Gold...Not Just In The Olympics

With the 2012 Summer Games completed in London, athletes from the four corners of the globe gathered some gold. Well, the Olympics wasn't the only place you can find Gold.  Try right in the produce market.  There, you can also go for the Gold. Have you seen the fuzzless Kiwifruit, the one with a cool little beak on top? Of course, you know the little brown, fuzzy Kiwi. Beautiful emerald green inside with that universe of seeds. Kiwifruit is the healthiest fruit you can buy at the produce market.

No.  A Pluot. I’m asked by parents all the time how to get their kids to eat more fruits and veggies, without it being a war all the time.

Apricots That Taste Like Apricots

Posted on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 11:26

Wow. What a thought. An Apricot that actually tastes like an Apricot is supposed to. Here’s a whole new meaning to “smooth like velvet.” Red Velvet Apricots from Kingsburg Farms in the San Joaquin Valley. The touch of velvet. Something rich and luxurious. It took these growers and breeders over 20 years to develop this new Apricot.    When I first started in the produce industry, the Patterson was among the most popular, along with the Royal and Blenheim.  I was often frustrated with
